Dear Parents, due to unforseen circumstances related to the facility at IS 34 our program has been afftected. please read below.
Dear I.S. 34 Camp Families
I am writing to share disappointing news regarding our Summer Camp program at I.S. 34.
Earlier today, United Activities Unlimited (UAU) was informed by I.S. 34 that the campus will most likely not be available for Summer Camp next summer due to a major boiler replacement project that will include abatement work. We understand how upsetting and disruptive this information may be for families who were planning to attend camp at this location, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please know that we were only made aware of this development today.
Our team is actively working to identify an alternate camp location on the South Shore and is exploring all viable options as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we want to ensure that families have clear and flexible choices.
At this time, families may select one of the following options:
- Receive a full reimbursement of any monies paid to date.
- Transfer your child’s registration to our College of Staten Island (CSI) camp location. Our CSI site includes a variety of unique, fun, and exciting amenities on the campus.
- Choose to wait while we continue efforts to secure a suitable alternate South Shore location. If we are successful, we will transfer your registration to that site. If we are unable to secure a location that meets our standards, you would then receive a full reimbursement.
We recognize that this news creates uncertainty, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this unexpected situation. Our priority is to ensure a safe, high-quality, and positive summer experience for all campers, something we are working hard to do.

United Activities Unlimited (UAU) has been serving Staten Island and other communities for over four decades. UAU is responsive to the needs of diverse populations and designs and implements programs that support positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
UAU’s broad breadth of services include afterschool programs, community centers, workforce development programs, employment training, prevention education and counseling, family and social services, fatherhood programs, college preparatory activities, literacy, summer camps and educational enrichment programs for youth and adults.
